 Access Scholarships

CFA Institute offers a needs-based scholarship opportunity for those unable to afford the full price of the CFA Program enrollment and registration fees.

Access scholarship awards waive the CFA Program enrollment fee and reduce the exam registration fee to $250, including the CFA Program eBook.

If awarded, you can apply the scholarship to either exam in the relevant calendar year.  You must register and sit for the exam in the relevant exam year or you may be ineligible for future Access Scholarships.

The Access Scholarship application is available online.  Please check with us to learn more about any additional society criteria for the scholarship.

Who is eligible?  Discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, or nationality is prohibited. Some suggestions for criteria include financial need, scholastic grades, or essays. Scholarships cannot be awarded to society officers, directors, or employees, or their immediate families. Applicants must fulfill all CFA candidate requirements. Contact a member society for details.

How many scholarships can a society award? A society may award a maximum of 10 scholarships per fiscal year. Each fiscal year includes the December exam and the June exam of the following year. Not all societies award scholarships for both the June and December exams.

What does the scholarship cover? For the current exam offering, the CFA Program enrollment fee (if applicable) is waived and the registration fee is discounted. Society scholars pay only the cost of curriculum (US$225) plus any applicable taxes and import duties. Curriculum discounts apply for returning candidates. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Scholarships cannot be deferred to another exam offering.
