On Tuesday, November 13th from 1-4pm, the JHU Carey Business School will be hosting an event called Finance Industry Roundtables at its Harbor East Campus.  Finance Industry Roundtables is an opportunity for Carey students to learn more about the variety of opportunities available in the finance industry and network with experienced professionals. JHU is looking for looking for 8-10 professionals across the finance industry to host networking roundtables.  The event will conclude with a networking reception. 

Historically, 50-60 Carey students across degree programs attend this event, and they have previously hosted professionals from Transamerica, Morgan Stanley, T. Rowe Price, PNC, Bank of America, Legg Mason, Exelon, Brown Advisory, and more.

Proposed Finance Industry Roundtable Agenda

1:00–1:30 PM
Introductions and opening remarks
Each roundtable host will provide a 1-2 minute introduction which includes the following information:
·         Your name
·         Current job and finance function
·         Education and any certifications you may have
·         Brief career overview
·         Your favorite/the most rewarding part of your job.

1:30-3:00 PM
Networking Roundtables
Small groups of students will be seated at your table.  They may ask you questions about your current role, job history, resume/interview advice, and more.  You will rotate to a new group of students every 12 minutes.  There will hopefully be enough time for 5 or 6 rotations.  You can kick off each round with introductions and move directly into Q&A. 

3:00–4:00 PM
Networking Reception
The event will conclude the networking roundtables and move into an open networking reception complete with refreshments and lite fare.  The event will conclude at 4 pm.

The cornerstone of the Society is centered around the volunteer efforts of its members. The Board of Directors encourages members to become involved. If you are interested in any listing programs or willing to spend some time with the candidate to talk about the CFA exam (study habits, test-taking strategies, help with testing material, etc.) and/or give some career advice if needed, please contact Nicola Daniel at ndaniel@baltimorecfasociety.org.
