Product Manager

Manning & Napier is headquartered in Fairport, NY with regional offices in St. Petersburg, FL and Columbus, OH. Founded in 1970, we provide a broad range of investment solutions, as well as a variety of consultative services that complement our investment process. We serve a diversified client base of high-net-worth individuals and institutions, including 401(k) plans, pension plans, Taft-Hartley plans, endowments and foundations. For many of these clients, our relationship goes beyond investment management and includes customized solutions that address key issues and solve client-specific problems. We are currently recruiting for an individual to join our Marketing Team.

The Product Manager will be primarily responsible for managing a set of related investment products managed by Manning & Napier.  The position will report to the Managing Director of Marketing and will work closely with Research and various Sales channels. The Product Manager will serve as the firm’s primary spokesperson for the assigned products and must develop and maintain a strong knowledge of product features, including investment, operational, and competitive aspects.  The position requires deep investment knowledge (CFA preferred) and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.   


  • Develop and maintain a working understanding of each assigned product, including investment process, management team, operational features, pricing and cost structure, performance and competitive landscape  
  • Create marketing message and all necessary marketing collateral to support the message. Work with marketing fulfillment, tactics and design teams to deliver collateral to field-facing representatives.
  • Consider channel-specific marketing needs and how messaging needs to be adjusted based on audience. Work with Practice Leaders when applicable to refine messaging by channel.
  • Prioritize product importance across channels to maximize sales opportunities
  • Assist in responding to Requests for Proposal related to the assigned products
  • Manage fee concession requests
  • Maintain a relationship with portfolio managers to stay on top of key developments in product positioning relative to our market outlook and current risks/opportunities
  • Develop a competitive universe for each product to better understand key strengths and weaknesses of each product
  • Present key messages to sales representatives and educate reps on key product features and selling points
  • Be available to assist sales representatives in the field for new business or service presentations
  • Act as the point of contact for PR opportunities relating to assigned products
  • Develop campaigns across channels to further product sales
  • Participate in product development discussions


  • Bachelors degree, with strong record of academic achievement
  • CFA and minimum 2 years product management or similar experience within the investment industry
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
