Sample and Mock Exams

One valuable way for you to prepare for the CFA exams is to take practice exams ahead of time.

The Benefits for You:

  • Realistic - a realistic test-taking experience featuring exam-like questions that you might face on the actual exam
  • Real-time - offer a timed environment to mimic the actual testing experience
  • Results - immedidate scoring to help you understand your strengths and weaknesses for further study
  • Affordable - CCFAS offers a mock exam at least two week prior to the actual exam for both December and June sittings. These are priced under $100

Do more than one! The more questions you do, the better prepared you will be. There are many mock and sample exams available - CFA Institute as well as preparatory course providers offer many options at many price points. For more information, please contact us or these providers directly.

Questions to Ask When Choosing a Prep Course Provider

  • §Does the prep provider predict what specific topics are going to appear on the exam? Preparatory courses should help you prepare for the exam, not engage in speculation about what topics will appear on the exam.
  • §Does the prep provider claim to use actual questions from previous CFA exams? CFA Institute has not released Level I multiple-choice questions since 1995 and does not release Level II and III item set questions.
  • §Are the study materials prepared by CFA charterholders?
  • §Is the prep course teaching the current CFA Institute assigned readings and LOS?
  • §Are the preparatory course practice exam offerings consistent with the current CFA Institute curriculum and exam question formats?
  • §When will the study materials be available? Study materials that are not available until February or March will not offer much study time for a June exam.
  • §How are candidates informed about study material errata?
  • §If the provider guarantees your success on the exam, how are guarantees handled for unsuccessful candidates?
