Changes to the CFA Institute Scholarship Program

During 2012, CFA Institute will undergo a transition to a new scholarship structure that offers two types of scholarships for individuals pursuing the CFA Program: Awareness and Access.

Society Scholarships for December 2012

The Calgary CFA Society in conjunction with CFA Institute is offering scholarships in respect of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program. Scholarships are open to all Calgary and area CFA candidates who are eligible to enroll for the CFA Program in December 2012, in addition to students enrolled in their final year of study at a local university. Society scholarships provided by the Calgary CFA Society are open to candidates in the Calgary and surrounding areas only.

Up to five (5) scholarships are available for the December 2012 exam.

In addition to the scholarship awarded by CFA Institute, the Calgary CFA Society will reimburse up to US$310 to assist with the cost of curriculum.

Application form (PDF)

Verification Form (applications will not be considered without an accompanying Verification Form)

Employment letter (stating non reimbursement of program fees)

Transcripts (if applying as a university student)

Optional:  Two reference letters (professional and/or academic)

Please note that if you are wanting to drop off your application, we do not have an office. Our mailbox is located in the UPS Store in the Suncor building and they will accept your envelope to be placed in our mailbox.

Access Scholarships - Available for 2013 Exams

CFA Institute is making available a needs-based scholarship opportunity for those unable to afford the full price of the CFA Program enrollment and registration fees. In collaboration with our member societies around the world, Access Scholarships will be awarded beginning with the 2013 exam cycle.

• Applications for the 2013 exam cycle are now available online and will be accepted through June 2012. The scholarship application deadline for both the June 2013 and December 2013 exams is 30 June 2012.
• Access scholarship awards reduce CFA Program enrollment and exam registration fees to $250, including the CFA Program eBook. (Scholarship candidates are responsible for any additional costs for substituting or adding the print option, including curriculum and shipping costs plus any applicable taxes and import duties.)
• Up to 2,500 scholarships will be awarded to CFA Program applicants each calendar year.
