CFA Institute Research Challenge - Kick Off - 14th November

On 14th of November 2018, the CFA Institute Research Challenge got under way in Finland. The Kick Off Session was held in Kansallissali, Helsinki. This year, the following six universities took place in Finland:

Aalto University, Jyväskylä School of Business and Economics, Lappeenranta University of Technology, Oulu University, University of Eastern Finland and University of Turku.

In the competition this year, the students were researching on Cargotec Plc., a leading provider of cargo handling solutions. Hanna-Maria Heikkinen, VP of Investor Relations at Cargotec, gave an insightful presentation about Cargotec's operations and future outlook.

In addition, CFA Society Finland's sponsor, Refinitiv, gave a presentation about their flagship product Eikon. In the competition, the students are given an access to use Eikon in order to crunch the numbers of and around Cargotec.

Judging by the enthusiasm among the students, we're confident that the Finns will nail it in the Global Finals of CFA Research Challenge in New York City on April, 2019.
