Overview
The Challenge is an equity research competition among student teams from the world’s top university business and finance programs. Students write an equity research report on a publicly traded company and present their findings to an expert panel. Local winners can move on to compete in the Americas competition and eventually a worldwide final.

Purpose of the Event

  • Promote the CFA Society of Minnesota as an organization that is widely recognized, well respected, and highly valued by investors, academia, and the business community in our region
  • Provide opportunities for members to enhance the value of the organization by volunteering
  • Grow the organization by expanding student recruiting and awareness
  • Develop a sense of community among members by involving many of them in a single event
The CFA MN local Challenge on February 17, 2011 was a great success.
The turnout was excellent, and the competitors well-prepared.

Congratulations to the University of Minnesota team as they took home first
place and the opportunity to compete in the national Challenge in Omaha, NE this April.
