 CFA Society Mississippi 2017 Annual Forecast Dinner

​CFA Society Mississippi hosts the Annual Forecast Dinner at the start of each year to bring together investors and investment professionals and foster an environment of camaraderie and education. The Annual Forecast Dinner has become one of the premier financial forecast events in the country, regularly hosting over 500 attendees. Each year we bring together industry experts from the fields of fixed income investments, equity investments, and/or economics to discuss the current economic environment and how they see markets progressing for the upcoming year.

Randi Tolber, CFA
Director of Society Relations, Americas
CFA Institute

Randi Tolber, CFA is Director of Society Relations for the Americas Region of CFA Institute. Her team supports the partnership between CFA Institute and the 89 member societies in the region, providing consultative services such as governance, business, and strategic planning, and connecting societies to needed resources, staff, and Institute initiatives. Randi previously spent fifteen years in Private Wealth investment management, first for a Wells Fargo predecessor, overseeing a team responsible for $2 billion of private, trust, and endowment assets in South Florida, and later with Norther Trust Bank. Randi is a former board member and volunteer of both CFA Society Miami and CFA Society South Florida. She now lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she joined CFA Institute in 2012.

John Sherman, CFA
Federated MDT Balanced Fund

John Sherman is responsible for asset allocation decisions for the Federated MDT Balanced Fund as well as managing the Real Estate Investment Trust investments. He has 25 years of investment experience.

John joined MDT Advisers in 2000 and Federated in 2006. Previous associations include senior analyst, Citizens Financial Group; senior analyst, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

John has a bachelor's degree from North Adams State College and an MBA from Boston University's Graduate School of Management. He is also a CFA charterholder, member of the CFA Institute and member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.

Matthew Eagan, CFA
Vice President, Portfolio Manager
Loomis, Sayles & Co

Matt Eagan is a vice president of Loomis, Sayles & Company and portfolio manager for the Loomis Sayles fixed income group. He has 26 years of investment industry experience as a portfolio manager and fixed income analyst. Matt is a co-portfolio manager of the firm’s flagship Loomis Sayles Bond Fund—which won the 2009 Morningstar Fund Manager of the Year award in the fixed income category—as well as the Strategic Alpha, Strategic Income, High Income, Institutional High Income, Investment Grade Bond, Fixed Income and Investment Grade Fixed Income funds. Matt joined Loomis Sayles in 1997 as a fixed income research analyst for the multisector fixed income team. Prior to Loomis Sayles, he was a senior fixed income analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and a senior credit analyst at BancBoston Financial Company. Matt earned a BA from Northeastern University and an MBA from Boston University.


Wesley R. Gray, PhD
Founder, CEO, & CIO
Alpha Architect

After serving as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, Dr. Gray received a PhD, and was a finance professor at Drexel University. Dr. Gray’s interest in entrepreneurship and behavioral finance led him to found Alpha Architect, an asset management that delivers affordable active exposures for tax-sensitive investors. Dr. Gray has published four books and multiple academic articles. Wes is a normal contributor to the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and the CFA Institute. Dr. Gray earned an MBA and a PhD in finance from the University of Chicago and graduated magna cum laude with a BS from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
