Title

Annual Forecasting Dinner 2014:  Economic Growth and Innovation

Event Description

Five years down the road after the outbreak of global financial crisis, the economic conditions in Europe remain challenging and it is tempting to become short-sighted and look only for immediate remedies for the crisis. As important as such measures are, there is a real need to look for structural reforms that would enhance European growth in the long run. Inspiration can be drawn from many sources. What can we learn from the emergence of growing economies elsewhere that incited shift of power globally? To what extent do we acknowledge the role of innovation, and what can be attributed to government and to private sectors?

Join us for the Forecasting Dinner to explore the path towards Economic Growth and Innovation! featuring:

Jurgen Rigterink, the Chief Risk and Finance Officer of FMO, and

Mariana Mazzucato, an economist affiliated with the University of Sussex (http://www.marianamazzucato.com).
