CFA Society New Mexico is proud to be a member society to CFA Institute, a global, nonprofit member organization of financial analysts, portfolio managers, and other investment professionals. Our society seeks to advance the development of the investment profession and to improve the visibility of the members by supporting professional development and advocating for the New Mexico investing community.

CFA Society New Mexico offers a variety of membership options. Please review the detailed membership levels, requirements and accompanying benefits for each membership below. Benefits of membership include:

​​We recommend regular membership for candidates in the CFA program. The application process has three phases and typical takes several weeks to be approved. Regular membership requires:
  • ​A bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience​.
  • A passing score for the CFA Level I Exam or the self-administered Standards of Practice Examination
  • 4000 hours of professional work experience in investment decision making
  • 3 professional references
  • Local CFA Society membership (optional but strongly encouraged)

We recommend affiliate membership for investment professionals who do not intend to participate in the CFA Program or have not yet met the requirements for regular membership. Affiliate membership requires:
We recommend local membership for those who do not intend to participate in the CFA Program but wish to be informed and involved in CFA Society New Mexico events, news and/or participate as a volunteer on committees. Local membership requires: 
We recommend candidate membership for those who are actively pursuing the CFA Charter and are currently registered for a CFA Exam. Candidate membership requires:
  • Non-charterholder that has passed Level I of the CFA Exam or the Standards of Practice Exam (self-administered)
  • Sign and submit the Member's Agreement and Professional Conduct Statement - click here for statement form
  • Adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct Statement
  • Maintain an active CFA Program Candidacy
For the Local and Candidate Memberships once your application is reviewed and approved we will send you an invoice for the annual dues amount.
