2013 CFA Society NC Annual Meeting and Golf Outing Tuesday, June 4th
Join CFA Society NC Members and guests for a special Annual Meeting event at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro on Tuesday June 4th. We will offer the traditional Golf Outing with tee times beginning at 12:06pm. The format is Captains Choice. You may form your own team, or register as an individual golfer and we will put you on a team.
Our reception will take place at 5:30, followed by dinner at 6:15 pm.
Bill Hackney, CFA Senior Partner, Atlanta Capital Management Company
"Stuff I Wish I’d Known When I Was Your Age: Four Decades of Trial and Error in the Investment Business."
Mr. Hackney discusses what’s he’s learned—the do’s and don’ts-- from his almost 40 years in the investment management business. Topics include economic analysis, portfolio management, stock selection as well as organizational leadership.
Speaker Bio:
Bill Hackney has 39 years of investment management experience. He is currently Senior Partner of Atlanta Capital and responsible for the firm’s economic research and investment strategy. During his 18 years with the firm, he has served as managing partner and member of the firm’s executive committee, portfolio manager for all of the firm’s equity strategies, and author of the firm’s investment newsletter.
Prior to joining the firm in 1995, Bill was a Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of First Union’s Capital Management Group in Charlotte, NC. From 1979-1981 he worked as Regional Research Director for E.F. Hutton & Co’s Southeast Region. He is a 1970 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following college, he served as an officer in the US Marine Corps where he received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Citadel in Charleston SC. He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve in 1999 with the rank of Colonel. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
