The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an equity research competition among student teams from the world's top university business and finance programs. Students write an equity research report on a publicly traded company, and present their findings to an expert panel. The teams are judged on their written reports and the presentations and a winner is selected. Throughout the competition, leading investment professionals volunteer as mentors and judges and teach these students best practices in equity research and corporate analysis. Learn more about the Research Challenge.

CFA Society Switzerland will be hosting the local competition of the CFA Institute Research Challenge for the fifth year in conjunction with the participating universities. The universities will assemble teams of 3 - 5 business and finance students who will work directly with Autoneum - the company that was selected for this year's challenge - in researching and preparing a company analysis.

Autoneum will present to students and mentors during the kick-off in Zurich on 4 October 2013 and in Zürich and Neuchâtel (see key dates).

The team's reports and final presentations will be evaluated by a high-profile panel of judges (composed of heads of research, portfolio managers, and chief investment officers from Switzerland's leading financial firms). The teams will present just prior to the award ceremony on 26 February 2014 in the Aula of the University of Zurich. The winning teams will receive a total prize money of CHF 3'000.

The Swiss champions will advance to the EMEA regional competition, which will take place in Milan on 1-2 April 2014 and hopefully to the global final, which will take place on 25 April 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand.
