CFA Vancouver provides members with educational programs, networking opportunities and a forum for individuals with a commitment to high professional, ethical and educational standards in the investment industry. Members can participate in wide range of events and programs throughout the year as outlined below:
Corporate Programs
CFA Vancouver sponsors breakfast, luncheon and afternoon meetings covering industry topics, corporate presentations, seminars and field trips. Guest speakers include prominent economists, CEO's and CFO's, investment strategists, leading analysts, and important investment writers.
Professional Development
CFA Vancouver plans a number of educational seminars on various topics such as equity, fixed income, and derivatives. More information about these series will be available to our members in the near future.
Advocacy
The Advocacy and Corporate Governance Committees represent the interests of CFA Vancouver members on issues that affect capital markets and investment practice locally and, through membership in the Canadian Advocacy Council, across Canada. Their efforts include identifying and tracking regulatory, technological, and professional issues and developments that affect investment practice and maintaining relations with regulatory bodies and other professional organizations.
Professional Placement
CFA Vancouver members are notified of employment opportunities in the investment industry. Our fee is $500 for a 3 month website posting and email distribution to all CFA Society members in BC. We ask that qualifications include the CFA Charterholder designation or CFA Candidate.
Picture Framing
To our recent CFA Charter recipients, we have made arrangements with the picture framing company "The Gallery" to have your charter framed for $90.00 plus tax. Included in this rate are the following:
- metal frame (5/8 inch thick)
- acid free double matting
- regular glass
- dry mounting
If you prefer to select a framing package that is customized to meet your individual specifications, a negotiated discount off the regular price has also been arranged.
