Conventional wisdom paints a vivid picture of millennials and their attitudes on investing. Here’s a common statement of assumptions about them: Millennials are a homogenous group with lofty goals who gravitate to robo-advisers and are overconfident in their financial lives.
Our panel discussion focuses on the research results of a joint study by CFA Institute and FINRA entitled “Uncertain Futures: 7 Myths about Millennials and Investing.”
We will explore the 7 assumptions and examine attitudes on investing among three millennial segments — those with no investment accounts of any kind, those with retirement accounts only and those with taxable investment accounts (most also owned retirement accounts) — and compares them with their Gen X and baby boomer counterparts.
