Mahtab Osmani, CFA, is a seasoned corporate and investment banking professional with more than 24 years of experience in Bangladesh's financial sector. As President of CFA Society Bangladesh, he leads the Society in advancing ethical standards, professional excellence and thought leadership within the country's investment community.

Mr. Osmani currently serves as Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate Business, International Banking and Export Finance at Bank Asia PLC. Before joining Bank Asia, he built a distinguished career at Standard Chartered Bank, progressing from an analyst to senior leadership roles within its Corporate and Investment Banking Division. As an Executive Director, he led the Global Corporates and Large Corporate Coverage businesses at different times.

Throughout his career, Mr. Osmani has originated and executed major financing transactions, including export credit agency- and multilateral-backed facilities, syndicated loans, bonds, structured trade solutions and sustainable finance initiatives.

Mr. Osmani holds a BBA and an Executive MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, and is a CFA Charterholder. Before assuming the presidency, he served on the Board of Directors of CFA Society Bangladesh.

Kazi Monirul Islam, CFA, is an accomplished investment executive whose career spans nearly two decades in Bangladesh's financial and capital markets. In his capacity as Vice-President of CFA Society Bangladesh, he contributes to strengthening professional integrity, industry expertise and investor education across the country.

Since May 2024, Mr. Islam has led Shanta Asset Management Limited as its Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was Head of Investment and Strategic Planning at IDLC Securities Limited. His career began in 2009 at Asian Tiger Capital Partners Limited, where he worked as an Analyst. After joining IDLC Securities in 2014, he became Head of Research before taking on broader leadership responsibilities in investment and strategy. His work there covered proprietary investments, equity research, margin-financing risk, technology-led transformation and corporate planning.

Alongside his executive responsibilities, Mr. Islam remains closely engaged in professional and academic development. He teaches as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, and conducts courses for the Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market, Bangladesh Academy for Securities Markets and Dhaka Stock Exchange Training Academy.

Mr. Islam earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Dhaka. He became a CFA Charterholder in 2014 and received the Chartered Market Technician designation in 2023.

S M Galibur Rahman, CFA, is a capital market professional with more than 12 years of experience spanning investment research, macroeconomic analysis, asset management and digital financial services. As Secretary and a Board member of CFA Society Bangladesh, he contributes to the Society's efforts to strengthen professional standards and investment expertise within the country's financial community.

Mr. Rahman currently serves as Head of Research and Strategic Planning at Shanta Securities Limited, where he oversees the company's research function, margin-loan operations and digital business. Before joining Shanta Securities, he worked at IDLC Securities Limited as Lead Macro and Financial Sector Sell-Side Analyst.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Rahman held buy-side analyst positions at Asian Tiger Capital Asset Management and Alliance Capital Asset Management. He also served for two years as a Bangladesh Country Risk Expert with the Country Risk Department of Euromoney, the London-based business and finance publication.

Mr. Rahman holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Jagannath University. He became a CFA Charterholder in 2017.

Md. Sakib Chowdhury, CFA, is an experienced capital market professional with a background spanning brokerage operations, investment advisory, wealth management and equity research. As Treasurer and a Board member of CFA Society Bangladesh, he supports the Society's governance and its efforts to uphold professional standards and expand investment knowledge across the financial community.

Mr. Chowdhury currently serves as Vice President at UCB Stock Brokerage Limited, where he plays an important role in strengthening the firm's brokerage and capital market operations. Before assuming his current position, he was Head of Wealth and Advisory Business at Prime Bank Investment Limited, leading the development of client-focused investment and advisory solutions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Chowdhury held research roles at UCB Capital Management Limited and UCB Stock Brokerage Limited. He also worked as a Research Associate at BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage Limited and as an Equity Research Analyst at City Brokerage Limited. His experience encompasses company valuation, industry research, market analysis and investment strategy.

Mr. Chowdhury is a CFA Charterholder and remains actively involved in supporting the continued development of Bangladesh's capital market and investment profession.

Asif Khan, CFA, is an accomplished investment professional, entrepreneur and respected voice in Bangladesh's capital market. A Director and former President of CFA Society Bangladesh, he stands among the most active and longstanding contributors in the Society's history.

Mr. Khan is Chairman of EDGE Asset Management Limited and a co-founder of EDGE Financial Group, whose activities span asset management, independent investment research and venture capital. His professional expertise encompasses frontier-market equities, portfolio management, macroeconomic research and long-term value investing. Through his leadership, he has helped develop research-driven investment businesses founded on integrity, disciplined analysis and responsible capital allocation.

Mr. Khan has been closely involved with CFA Society Bangladesh since its formative years. Over more than a decade, he has served the organization in several leadership capacities, including as Treasurer and as President from 2024 to 2026. His sustained commitment, institutional knowledge and hands-on participation have made him one of the Society's most dedicated members. During his presidency, he continued to strengthen member engagement, professional education and the Society's role within Bangladesh's investment community.

A CFA charterholder, Mr. Khan also contributes to financial thought leadership through his writing and commentary on investing, economic developments and capital markets. He remains committed to strengthening ethical practices, promoting investor education and supporting the continued growth of Bangladesh's investment profession.

Saad Mohammed Niamatullah, CFA, is a corporate strategy and finance professional with expertise in strategic planning, business analysis and investment-oriented decision-making. Recently elected as a Director of CFA Society Bangladesh for the 2026-2028 term, he joins the Board after establishing a strong record of volunteer service within the Society.

Mr. Niamatullah currently serves as Manager in the Strategy Department at LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited. In this capacity, he contributes to strategic evaluation, business planning and initiatives supporting the company's long-term objectives. His professional perspective combines financial analysis with practical corporate strategy and commercial decision-making.

Before joining the Board, Mr. Niamatullah volunteered across numerous Society projects and initiatives. His consistent involvement, collaborative approach and willingness to take responsibility have made him a valued member of the volunteer community. Through his work, he has supported the Society's efforts to strengthen member engagement, professional learning and connections within Bangladesh's investment profession.

A CFA charterholder, Mr. Niamatullah is committed to ethical conduct, continuous professional development and the advancement of financial knowledge. As a Board member, he brings fresh perspectives together with a demonstrated commitment to serving the Society and its members.

S. M. Samiuzzaman, CFA, is an investment management professional with experience in portfolio construction, asset allocation, security selection and risk management. Recently elected as a Director of CFA Society Bangladesh for the 2026-2028 term, he brings both professional expertise and a proven record of active volunteer service to the Board.

Mr. Samiuzzaman currently serves as Senior Portfolio Manager at UCB Asset Management Limited. His responsibilities encompass investment research, portfolio strategy and the management of client assets across different market conditions. His approach emphasizes disciplined analysis, appropriate asset allocation and the pursuit of sustainable long-term returns while carefully managing investment risk.

Before joining the Board, Mr. Samiuzzaman contributed actively as a Society volunteer, supporting a range of projects, programmes and member-focused initiatives. His consistent participation and collaborative spirit have made him a valued member of the volunteer community. His election to the Board reflects a natural progression from hands-on volunteering to a broader leadership role.

A CFA charterholder, Mr. Samiuzzaman is also passionate about financial literacy and encourages disciplined saving and long-term investing.
