The first few years of the 2020s have either presented real estate investors with significant challenges or wonderful opportunities - it all really depends on what kind of real estate you own. A global pandemic, multi-decade high inflation, interest rate shocks, and sustainability have created significant dispersion between the winners and losers of commercial real estate. As we leave some of these significant disruptions, what is the path forward?
 
Private credit was the fastest-growing private market strategy of the 2010s, propelled by the growth of direct lending post-GFC and ultra-low interest rates. However, asset-based lending has grown in popularity as well, particularly around the real estate market that have not had as much support from the banks. How should investors examine this asset class in the coming years?
