Masterful Feedback: Soft Skills Workshop

The society is pleased to welcome Phil Mittertreiner, Chief Learning Officer (CLO) at Mawer Investment Management Ltd., to provide a training session on how to master the art of giving and receiving feedback.

This 2.5 hour workshop provides participants with perspectives, frameworks, best practices, and practical ideas that can enable them to become masters in the domain of feedback. Workshop content includes:

• Observation, Assessment and Advice – what is the difference, when to use each?
• Reinforcing feedback vs. corrective feedback – what’s the optimal ratio between the two?
• A powerful way to deliver feedback – observation with impact.
• Feedback vs. recognition vs. constructive criticism – what is the difference?
• The non-directive way to deliver feedback – helping the performer to provide feedback to themself.
• Differences between feedback conversations and request for change conversations.
• How to be an effective receiver of feedback.

As a large group we will discuss what challenges participants still require assistance with and explore possible approaches to ensure success.
