Lauren Fine, CFA, Gries Financial Partners
Lauren Rich Fine, CFA joined Gries Financial Partners in 2016 to help drive business development and strategy and work directly with clients on their investment portfolios. She is a partner at the firm and handles marketing and talent as well.
Prior to that she was an Executive Search Consultant at Howard & O’Brien, focused on C-Suite and board searches. The bulk of her searches were in the areas of finance and marketing and her clients ranged from public to private and closely-held companies.
Lauren was previously a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in Equity Research for nearly two decades, where she was named to the Institutional Investor All-American Research team, holding the number one position in her coverage universe for 11 years. She analyzed public companies within the broad Internet & Media universe as well as Advertising & Marketing and Education companies. Lauren was a frequent source & contributor to CNBC and other news outlets as well as the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. She was tapped to speak at numerous conferences throughout her career.
She has a B.A. from Tufts University where she majored in Economics & Psychology and did a year abroad in Greece and England. Her M.B.A. is from the Stern School of Management at New York University.
Lauren sits on the board of the E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP) and Private Trust Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of LPL Financial (NASDAQ: LPLA) and is on the Audit Committee of each organization. She previously served on the Dolan Media Board of Directors (NYSE: DM).
She is also on the boards of the Ahuja Medical Center, Cleveland International Film Festival, Cleveland Museum of Art, College Now, and ideastream, is the Chair of the University Hospital Connor Integrative Health Network Leadership Council, and sits on the Investment Committee at the Jewish Community Federation. She is actively involved in a number of local start-ups. Lauren was awarded the YWCA Women of Achievement Award and was a Crain’s Women of Note.
Aneet Deshpande, CFA, Chief Investment Strategist, Clearstead
Aneet serves as Chief Investment Strategist of Clearstead and has over 20 years of investment management experience. In his current role, Aneet helps oversee the research and investment management functions. Working with the research team, private client group, and institutional consulting group, he helps guide the firm’s investment direction including Clearstead’s views on capital markets. Prior to joining Clearstead, Aneet served as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for PNC Capital Advisors, LLC (PCA). Prior to assuming CIO responsibilities Aneet held several positions with PCA including portfolio manager for the firm’s multi asset mutual funds and clients, and as head of investment strategy and trading. Prior to joining PNC Capital Advisors, Aneet worked for Chicago Equity Partners, LLC, a boutique quantitative investment management firm in Chicago, Illinois. Aneet earned a BSBA in Finance from the University of Louisville. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Society of Cleveland and the CFA Institute.
Tom Jalics, CFA, Chief Market Strategist, Senior Vice President, Fifth Third Bank
Tom Jalics is the Chief Market Strategist at Fifth Third Bank where he is responsible for leading the Investment Management Group’s asset allocation process, both strategic and tactical, which informs the management of the ~$29 billion in assets under management (AUM) at the bank. He provides internal and external communication on the economy and the markets, making public speaking and media appearances on behalf of the bank. Additionally, Tom is a discretionary investment portfolio manager focusing on high net worth clients. Prior to his current role, Tom was Director of Asset Allocation at the firm.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Tom has been a sought after industry expert and commentator having been quoted in the media including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Business News, The Economist, and Reuters. Tom has also appeared on television and radio including Bloomberg (Television, Radio, and Business News), CNBC, and CBS Radio Chicago.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Economics from Miami University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He hasearned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) professional designation.
Anna Rathbun, CFA, CAIA, Chief Investment Officer, CBIZ
Anna is the chief investment officer for CBIZ Investment Advisory Services, LLC (CBIZ IAS), a Registered Investment Advisory firm. Anna is responsible for overseeing the investment activities of CBIZ IAS through the CBIZ Advisory Board. She helps to set the direction of the firm as a member of the Executive Committee.
