On Thursday, March 16th, 2023, we hosted our 45th Annual Forecast Dinner, where we explored the impact of tighter monetary policy, geopolitical risks, and slower economic growth.
We were thrilled to welcome everyone back for our first in-person Forecast Dinner since 2020. The evening began with keynote speaker Michael Lombardi, former NFL general manager, three-time Super Bowl winner, and author.
Following the keynote, we had a CIO Perspectives presentation delivered by Ed Cass, Chief Investment Officer at CPP Investments.
The evening concluded with an engaging and insightful panel discussion moderated by Todd Hirsch, the Modern Economist. Todd, a speaker and author with deep knowledge of Alberta's economy, led the discussion with esteemed panelists, including Catherine Rothrock, Chief Economist for the Government of Alberta, who analyzed economic trends and developed forecasts to support budget and fiscal planning for the government; Scott Blair, Chief Investment Officer for CWB Wealth, who was responsible for the investment team overseeing approximately $10B in assets under management and administration; and Justin Lord, Senior Managing Director, Public Equities for AIMCo, whose team of investment professionals managed a multi-billion-dollar Public Equities portfolio.
