Tom Psarofagis, CMT – Bloomberg Intelligence
Tom is an ETF analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he held roles in ETF groups at both Oppenheimer Funds and IndexIQ. Previously,Tom was in Product Development at Nasdaq where he worked on creating innovative indexes for ETF sponsors. Tom attended the University of Connecticut where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance. Tom is a Chartered Market Technician and a member of the Market Technicians Association.
Jon Rather, CFA, Fixed Income Product Strategy – BlackRock / Institutional iShares Insurance
Jon is a member of the Fixed Income Product Strategy Team within BlackRock's Global Fixed Income Group, supporting iShares Fixed Income ETFs. In his role, Mr. Rather provides market and product insight to clients with a focus on iShares' Fixed Income ETFs. Prior to joining BlackRock , Jon worked in the Chief Investment Office at UBS as an Investment Strategist, performing cross-asset class investment strategy and portfolio construction advice for UBS financial advisors.
Jared Rowley, CFASenior Strategist Global SPDR Business Intermediary Business Group
Jared is a Vice President of State Street Global Advisors and a Senior Strategist within the Investment Strategy team of the SPDR ETF business. In this capacity he is responsible for developing market research, actionable investment ideas and serving as an expert on SPDR ETFs in support of SSGA's intermediary and platform clients. Jared also contributes to the marketing, product development and business strategy efforts of the SPDR ETF business. Prior to his current role Jared was a member of the SSGA's Active Quantitative Equities Group, where he was responsible for product development, research and product positioning across multiple quantitative investment strategies. Jared earned a BS in Economics and Business from Berea College and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Jay Jacobs, CFA Director of Research – Global X Funds
Jay leads the Global X research team, overseeing the firm's insights on the markets and ETFs, which can be found at www.globalxfunds.com/research. He is a frequent guest in the financial media, including Fox Business, CNBC, and Bloomberg. Prior to joining Global X, Jacobs was a business analyst at the NYSE in the ETF and Indexing Group, where he helped launch hundreds of new ETFs on the NYSE Arca trading platform. He is a CFA charterholder, holds a bachelor's degree from Emory University in international studies, and studied at The London School of Economics.
Samuel Brothwell, Senior Research Analyst – EIP Investment Committee (First Trust Subadvisor)
Samuel Brothwell is a Senior Research analyst and a member of the EIP Investment Committee. From 2011 to 2013, Mr. Brothwell was sector head of utilities at Bloomberg Intelligence. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Corporate Planning and Investor Relations at Questar Corporation between 2009 and 2010. From 1995 through 2009, he was a research analyst following U.S. and global electric and gas utilities, pipelines, and natural gas midstream as a Managing Director at Wachovia Capital Markets (2005 to 2009), as a Director at Merrill Lynch (1997 to 2005), and as a Vice President at Moody's Investors Service (1995 to 1997). Mr. Brothwell began his energy career with New Mexico utility PNM Resources. He has participated in the Aspen Institute's Energy Policy Forums since 2006. Mr. Brothwell is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and earned his B.B.A. from the University of New Mexico in 1983.
Frank Ossino, Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager and Sector Head of Bank Loans – Newfleet Asset Management
Frank Ossino is senior managing director, senior portfolio manager, and sector head of the bank loan asset class at Newfleet Asset Management, an investment management affiliate of Virtus Investment Partners. Mr. Ossino is a portfolio manager of the Newfleet Floating Rate Bank Loan, High Yield, and Flexible Credit Strategies in both separately managed and pooled vehicles, as well as mutual funds, through a number ofsubadvisory relationships. Additionally, he is responsible for the structuring and management of Newfleet's CLO platform. Prior to joining Virtus in 2012, Mr. Ossino was a portfolio manager at Harford Investment Management Company (2004-2011) and Hartford Funds subadviser Wellington Management (2012), where he managed mutual funds focused on bank loans and a commingled bank loan portfolio for institutional investors. Previously, he held a variety of credit analyst and portfolio management positions at CIGNA (2002-2004), HVB Bank (2000-2002), and FleetBoston Financial (1996-2000). Mr. Ossino earned his M.S. in international economics and finance from Brandeis University and Luigi Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and a B.S. in economics, cum laude, from Brandeis University. He began his career in the investment industry in 1996.
Chris Romano, Director of Research and Data - ETF Global
Chris leads the development of the proprietary research models and analytics at ETF Global. Chris is the Chairman of the ETFG Research Advisory Board and manages the firm's team of research analysts. Chris plays an integral role in developing custom solutions for all of ETFG's client segments. Chris has extensive experience within investment research having previously served as the Director of Research and Trading Strategies for a successful institutional money management firm. As part of this experience, Chris led the design of quantitative models and the development of trading processes and systems. Additionally, Chris served as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee providing insight and analytical information used for a large tactical asset management firm. Chris began his career in the systems administration and brokerage support areas. Chris obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science with a minor in Business from the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Chris has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute as well as the CFA Society of Pittsburgh.
