Energy Producer Perspective: A Conversation with Ron Neal of Houston Energy, L.P.

Mr. Neal has 30 years of successful exploration experience in the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast, Gulf of Mexico and West Texas. As Business Manager, Mr. Neal is responsible for the daily business operations of the company and management of its exploration programs. He began his career as a geologist with Amoco Production Company initially working South Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico and then later West Texas. He then spent 6 years with Davis Oil as Exploration Manager for West Texas and the Texas Gulf Coast. In 1988 he co-founded Houston Energy, L.P. with Billy Harrison. He graduated from LSU in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and received a Master of Science degree, also from LSU, in 1977. Houston Energy, L. P. is a privately-held independent oil and gas company exploring the Offshore Gulf of Mexico, South Louisiana, Texas Gulf Coast, West Texas, and Southeastern New Mexico.
Ted is Senior Fund Manager of the Frost Natural Resources Fund. Ted joined Frost Bank, the parent company of Frost Investment Advisors, LLC, in 2000.
He has more than 17 years of investment-related experience. Prior to joining Frost and the adviser in 2008, he worked as an equity analyst at Lighthouse Capital Management in Houston. Ted worked for three years as a generalist analyst covering and recommending companies across a wide spectrum of industries in conjunction with the firm's small-cap value investment orientation. Prior to Lighthouse, he served as the Director of Equity Research with Fiserv Investor Services where he was responsible for the development and marketing of internal and external equity research and associated support services to a national network of in-house and correspondent brokers. Prior to joining Fiserv, Ted was employed at the Investment Banking firm Stephens, Inc., in its Research Department. Ted earned a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from the University of Arizona.
