Doug Terreson, CFA
Doug Terreson is the former Head of Global Energy Research at Morgan Stanley and Evercore ISI, ranked #1 or #2 in the Institutional Investor poll for Integrated Oil a record 20 times and named to the All-America Research team 24 times — one of the most decorated energy analysts in Wall Street history.
He authored landmark theses including “The Era of the Super-Major” (1998), “The Golden Age of Refining” (2003), and “The Pledge for Greater Capital Discipline” (2015 to Present). He also served as lead analyst on some of the largest energy IPOs in history across North America (Conoco), Europe (Statoil) and Asia (Sinopec) and advised on major mergers including BP-Amoco, Chevron-Texaco, and ConocoPhillips.
Earlier, Doug managed Putnam’s energy mutual fund in Boston and began his career as an engineer with Schlumberger on the U.S. Gulf Coast. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University, an MBA from Rollins College, and the CFA designation.
He serves on the board of directors of Phillips 66 (Chair-Audit & Finance), MSU (Chair- Investment Committee) and Third Gear Energy. His book “Can’t Deny It” has been the #1 Oil and Gas, #1 Commodities and top 100 Business Biography on Amazon since publication in late 2024.
