Forecast Event 2026 - Hungarian Macroeconomic and
Investment Outlook

Mr. Péter Virovácz - Senior Economist, ING Bank N.V. Hungary Branch

Panel moderator:

Mr. István Horváth, CFA – Managing Director - Regional Manager Retail Banking, K&H Bank

The key topic of our 2026 Annual Forecast Event is the macro and market outlook for Hungary and the broader Central and Eastern European region. After sharp disinflation but still-tight financial conditions, what are the prospects for domestic growth, fiscal consolidation, and the external balance? How might election-year policy choices, Hungary–EU relations and access to EU funds influence risk premia, the forint, and financing conditions? We will also assess regional spillovers from the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict, energy-market volatility, and a still-uncertain European cycle. Finally, our panelists will translate the macro view into actionable investment ideas — duration vs. carry, FX hedging, credit and equity positioning, and the role of real assets/alternatives in a lower-inflation world.

Please be advised that photographs will be taken at the event for use on CFA Society Hungary’s website and social media channels, in the press and in other publications. By entering this event, you consent to the photographing and using your image and likeness.
