The Global Investment Research Challenge is an educational initiative to promote best practices in equity research through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills.
Each team taking part in the Challenge gets a unique hands-on opportunity to learn stock research and analysis skills from industry experts and to compete with peers from the world’s top finance programmes. The Irish teams are mentored by both industry and academic professionals and were helped in researching and analysing a local company and to prepare a research report as if they were practicing analysts. Those research reports were then submitted to a panel of high-profile judges who also hear oral submissions on the students’ conclusions.
The subject company for the 2017 / 2018 competition is CRH
