The World Affairs Council of Jacksonville will be hosting a Global Business Luncheon on Monday, May 18, dovetailing with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s annual Financial Markets Conference on Amelia Island. Our program, “Everything Has Changed in the Global Economy,” will feature Gita Gopinath, the Gregory and Ania Coffey Professor of Economics at Harvard University.
Dr. Gopinath is a globally recognized leader in international finance and macroeconomics, with research spanning dollar dominance, exchange rates, trade and investment, financial crises, monetary policy, and sovereign debt. She most recently served as First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (2022–2025), following her tenure as the IMF’s Chief Economist (2019–2022).
