The busiest AGM season has passed. Especially this year, from the beginning of this year, we had to think about what is shareholder activism because of the amendment of FEFTA...But apparently it didn't prevent shareholders proposal at least. We would like to review it and discuss what kind of achievements we have and what would be the next issues? CFA Society Japan invites two speakers who have totally different perspective respectively to discuss this topic.

Speaker Bios
Mr. Takeyuki Ishida, Head of Japan Research
Takeyuki Ishida is the Head of Japan Research. He is based in Tokyo, working at ISS in Tokyo since 2005, and became the Head of Japan Research in 2008.
Prior to joining ISS, he was a Research Analyst at Investor Responsibility Research Center (IRRC) in Washington DC, covering Japanese corporate governance and shareholder meetings. Takeyuki participated in the Working Group of Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) that drafted Japan's Principles for Responsible Institutional Investors (the Japanese Stewardship Code), and is also a Member of corporate governance study group for Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He is a Chartered Member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.
Takeyuki holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Ms. Nga Pham, PhD, CFA
She is a research fellow at the Monash Centre for Financial Studies (MCFS) in Australia. She works on issues related to pensions and corporate governance. Nga is also a member of the Disclosure and Transparency Committee of the International Corporate Gov
ernance Network (ICGN). Before MCFS, Nga was an academic at Hanoi University where she served as the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Tourism. Nga's industry experience includes three years of corporate governance consulting for the International Finance Corporation (a member of the World Bank Group). Her projects involved raising awareness, regulatory advisory, and capacity building in corporate governance for listed companies in Vietnam. She has also worked as an equity analyst in Vietnam. Nga has an MBA and a PhD in Finance from La Trobe University in Australia. She has been a CFA charterholder since 2011.
