Barbara Alemanni joined the University of Genova, Italy, in 2005, as Professor of Financial Markets and Institutions. In addition, she currently serves as Member of the Board of Directors, and Member of the International Relations Committee. She is also Professor of the SDA Bocconi School of Management of Milan, and scientific advisor to the Italian Pension Fund Promotion Strategy (MEFOP). She is a member of the Group of Economic Advisors (GEA) of ESMA.
In 2017, she has been appointed as Independent Non Executive Director of Borsa Italiana S.p.A.
Since 1994, Barbara has provided advisory services and trainings to several Italian and international banks and asset managers, to the Borsa Italiana S.p.a., and to the European Commission. Her main area of specialization are asset management, behavioural finance and regulation of financial markets.
From 1994 to 2005, Barbara was Researcher and Associate Professor of Financial Markets and Institutions at the University Bocconi of Milan.
Barbara holds a M.Sc. in Finance from the City University Business School in London, and a Bachelor in Economics from the University Bocconi of Milan.
