On May 19, 2015, CFA Society Luxembourg was pleased to welcome Ms. Barbara Stewart from Canada to present the key findings of her latest white paper, entitled
The Future of Women and Finance.
Drawing upon her experiences as a Partner and Portfolio Manager in an asset management firm serving high net worth clients as well as a researcher and writer on issues around women and financial literacy, Ms. Stewart sought out to learn more how women deal with matters related to finance.
During the course of her work, Ms. Stewart interviewed fifty global female and male leaders to better understand how women are considered in the financial world, both as clients and business partners. The outcome of her study, which she shared with the audience, revealed that when it comes to women and money: actions speak louder than words, women tend to learn through stories or shared experiences, women invest in identifiable causes and concerns that matter to them and finally, that smart women get started investing early instead of procrastinating.
CFA Society Luxembourg was happy to have hosted Ms. Stewart and the audience enjoyed the lecture and discussion that followed the presentation, all of which raised awareness on this important topic.
