It is owned by the founders of AirAsia X and Tune Hotels – Lim Kian Onn, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Datuk Kamarudin Meranun (collectively “the Founders”). Plato is involved in a range of investment activity in various industries (hotels, education, financial services, precision manufacturing etc.) at different stages (from start-up to privatization of listed companies).  The investment team at Plato has been behind the success of companies such as AirAsia X, ECM Libra Financial Group, Tune Protect, Tune Talk, BIG Loyalty, and BIG Loyalty. The team evaluates new opportunities on behalf of the Founders.


Plato is looking to add to its investment team as it expands and enhances operations at its portfolio of companies.  ​

Job Description:


As an Analyst, you will participate in all aspects of the investment process, from initial screening and due diligence, through to approval, post-investment monitoring, and reporting. In addition to the above, the Analyst will play an active role in the development and implementation of value creation initiatives within Group investee companies.


This position demands excellent communications skills, solid financial analytics and spreadsheet modeling skills, perseverance and creativity in researching information and the ability to balance multiple tasks.



·        Assist senior investment team members in the sourcing and evaluation of investment opportunities which will include preparation of research papers, financial models and investment memorandums

·        Prepare monthly operations and financials updates for portfolio companies

·        Provide continuous support to management of portfolio companies including recommending potential avenues to improve processes, operations and performance


Applicant Qualifications:
·        Possesses a Bachelor's degree from a top-tier undergraduate university and a minimum two (2) years' experience within investment banking / private equity / transaction advisory services / management consultancy and/or audit
·        Level 1 CFA and/or a profession accounting certification is preferable
·        Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
·        Ability to work independently within a team context and with multiple team leaders
·        Ability to effectively formulate and articulate opinions persuasively both verbally and in written form
·        Intellectual curiosity and attention to detail
·        Organizational and time-management skills​

Provide technical support to Research Analyst and perform other operational such as
data collection, the production of figures and charts and statistical analysis and work
independently and collaboration with other team members.
  • Assess, collect, organize and manipulate data from internal and external sources.
  • Verify data entry work completed to ensure accurate and timeliness of information; manage and implement historical and current data projects.
  • Utilize various sources to gather and validate data.
  • Play a supportive role for Research Analyst projects by conducting simple analysis.
  • Facilitate information and document management.
  • Perform other operational and processing tasks within the team as required.
  • Participate in departmental or Bank-wide initiatives as require.
  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy or Mathematic-based discipline from an institution recognized by the Government of Malaysia with CGPA of 3.5 and above.
  • Candidate with a minimum of 2 years working experience in Equity Research will have added advantage.
  • Possess good report writing skills.
  • Sense of urgency, meticulous, initiative and resourcefulness, responsible and achievement orientation.
  • Good team player with ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Positive attributes/attitude-willing to work long hours (if required)
