CFA Society Netherlands (CFA NL) is directly affiliated with the globally active
CFA Institute, which offers the CFA and CIPM examination programs, and has its original roots in the US marketplace. CFA NL is a not-for-profit organization that was
initially established as the Netherlands Society of Investment Professionals (NSIP) on 25 May 1999 by seven local CFA Charterholders. On 6 December 2006, NSIP changed its name to the CFA Society of The Netherlands. This was a side effect of the Association of Investment Management Research (AIMR) changing its name on that date to CFA Institute.
CFA NL is dedicated to developing and promoting the highest educational, ethical, and professional standards in the investment industry. Since 1999, the membership base has grown each year to over 800 members currently. Up until 2010 CFA NL was strictly managed as a volunteer-only organization. In 2011, CFA NL established a staffed office in the Amsterdam area to provide professional support in the execution of its mission and to increase its local visibility.
The membership base of CFA Society Netherlands is spread across the major cities in the country, most notably Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. The membership base represents all sub-sectors in the financial industry, ranging from Private Banking to Asset Management and Broker Research.
