The University of Central Florida is looking for a CFA member to join their adjunct faculty class for the fall of 2017. The school need someone to teach a financial statement analysis class using the CFA Level 1 books (book 3). Ideally, the class would include the ethics readings as well (book 1). Those two topics alone would cover 35% of Level 1 exam material. It is the goal to have more students prepare and sit for the Level 1 exam, and use this class as a way to expose students to the related material and textbooks. The school would then encourage them to use the remaining books as study guides for their other finance classes. Finally, the class will advise the students to take a review class at graduation and attempt Level 1. The class has been fully prepared, with PowerPoint slides for each reading, and CFA type questions for homework and exams. This should help reduce the time needed to prepare for this class. To be an adjunct, an individual needs to have a masters degree from an AACSB accredited institution. For this class, we are seeking either CFAs or CPAs. We pay our adjuncts $5,000/class, and often good instructors go on to teach other courses (or in my case join the faculty full time).
