Please join us on June 18th for a luncheon as part of our Putting Investors First month. Peter Routledge, the President and CEO of Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) will be discussing how the banking and financial system has changed (and is stronger) since the global financial crisis. He will highlight the environment then versus now and discuss what would happen if a failure were to occur. We will also look at deposit trends in Canada and globally and the effort CDIC is making to ensure Canadians know their money is well protected.
Mr. Routledge leads CDIC’s team of approximately 140 professionals from a variety of disciplines whose work supports the corporation’s vision to earn the trust of Canadians as a global leader in deposit insurance and resolution. He has extensive experience in Canada’s financial sector. Prior to joining CDIC, he was a Senior Advisor at the Department of Finance where he provided advice on a range of policy issues including financial stability, housing finance, and competition in Canadian financial services. Mr. Routledge holds an MBA from INSEAD in France, and a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Simon Fraser University.
