Event Description:

The CFA Society Ottawa is happy to announce the hosting of its third annual Lifestyle Event. The event will bring together CFA charterholders and candidates, as well as the local finance community for a multi-speaker conference on mindfulness, focus, and a healthy work/life balance.

The event is set to take place during the lunch hour of February 10, 2022, and our speakers for the event include: Michael Landsberg, veteran broadcaster and former host of “Off The Record”, who’ll speak about mental health and #sicknotweak, an organization that serves as both a resource and a community for people living with mental illness, and those who wish to support their loved ones; and Dr. Greg Wells, who’ll describe best practices for improved focus. Jennifer Innes, founder of Ottawa Meditation & Wellness, will offer a guided mindfulness meditation “Taming the Busy Mind: a 15-Minute Awareness of Body and Breath Practice”.

Michael Landsberg
Keynote Speaker, Health advocate

A veteran broadcaster and former host of Off The Record, Michael Landsberger is as brash, witty, and smart as you'd expect—but that's not all. He's also one of the country's most staunch and vocal mental health advocates. After publicly talking about his own struggle with depression for decades, Landsberg founded #SickNotWeak: a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating stigma and building community. In talks, he shows us that the road to healing begins with non-judgemental conversation.

One of the best-known personalities in Canadian broadcasting, Landsberg has been with TSN since the network's inception. He hosted Off The Record from its debut in 1997 to its finale in 2015 and TSN's First Up until 2021. Twice nominated for the Gemini Award for Best Host or Interviewer in a Sports Program or Sportscast, Landsberg was the Whistler Host for Olympic Daytime on CTV during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. During the London 2012 Olympic Games, he anchored TSN's Olympic Daytime.

Dr. Greg Wells

A veteran endurance athlete himself, Wells has participated in the grueling Nanisivik Marathon 600 miles north of the Arctic Circle; Ironman Canada; and the Tour D’Afrique, an 11,000 km cycling race that is the longest in the world. He is also a travel and expedition adventurer who has journeyed through every imaginable terrain and conditions in more than 50 countries.

Wells is the author of four bestselling books: Superbodies, The Ripple Effect, The Focus Effect, and his most recent, Rest, Refocus, Recharge: A Guide for Optimizing Your Life. He also hosted the award-winning Superbodies series, which aired on Olympic broadcasts worldwide in 2010 and 2012. As a speaker, Wells has travelled the world speaking at events such as TEDx and The Titan Summit, and has shared the stage with Robin Sharma, Richard Branson, Steve Wozniak, and Deepak Chopra.
