Event Description

If emerging markets can no longer ride on the coat-tails of developed-market economic growth, global trade liberalization or Chinese supply chains, where will growth come from?  And, what are the opportunities and risks investors should anticipate?

Many believe emerging markets will be the primary driver of global growth over the next decade, but a radical shift in the forces shaping emerging markets will require investors to take a quite different investment approach from what may have worked in the past.

Robert Rafter, CFA
Executive Director
Morgan Stanley
Rob serves as head of discretionary global macro, sovereign fixed income relative value and emerging markets strategiesfor the Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners Hedge Funds group. He joined Morgan Stanley AIP in 2011 and has 15 years of professional experience. Prior to joining the firm, Rob served as vice president responsible for hedge fund investments at Colchis Capital Management, a boutique alternative investment manager. Previously, he was a segment producer at CNBC Business News and an analyst at Lehman Brothers, where he worked on the central funding desk within the Fixed Income Division. Rob received a B.A. in government from Georgetown University. He is a member of the Bond Club of Philadelphia and the CFA Society of Philadelphia. Rob holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Charles W. Gushee
Founder and Principal
Kyklos Capital
Prior to forming Kyklos Capital, Mr. Gushee covered non-U.S. equity markets for over 20 years.
From 2006 to 2014, Mr. Gushee held senior roles including Global Head of Sales at Auerbach Grayson & Company, a boutique broker-dealer firm based in New York with a focus on Emerging and Frontier equity markets using a global network of local broker partners. As a Managing Director at Auerbach Grayson, Mr. Gushee supervised a sales team of over 20 people covering U.S. institutions, and managed the firm's relationships with many of the top Frontier market investors in the U.S. and with local brokers in many Frontier markets.
Prior to his tenure at Auerbach Grayson, Mr. Gushee worked for Kepler Capital Markets (formerly known as Kepler Equities and Bank Julius Baer) and for Societe Generale and its US subsidiary, SG Cowen & Co (now known as the Cowen Group), covering U.S. institutional investors investing in European markets.
Mr. Gushee holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Management with honors from Claremont-McKenna College in California, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business with honors from Columbia University.
Mr. Gushee grew up in Utah. He is married with a 13-year old son. He plays saxophone and squash in his spare time.

Raymond T. Zucaro, CFA
Chief Investment Officer and Founder
RVX Asset Management

Raymond T. Zucaro, CFA, serves as the Chief Investment Officer at RVX Asset Management, LLC. Mr. Zucaro founded the firm in July, 2015. Prior to this, he was Co-Founder,Managing Principal, and Portfolio Manager at SW Asset Management, LLC. Previously, Mr. Zucaro served as a Portfolio Manager of Drake Capital Management LLC responsible for investment opportunities in emerging markets. Prior to this, he was a Senior Investment Analyst at INTL Consilium where Mr. Zucaro was responsible for researching and recommending corporate fixed income and equity securities. He started his career as a Corporate Analyst at Americas Bank Trust and as a Corporate Research Analyst at Standard Bank Asset Management. Mr. Zucaro holds the CFA designation. He earned an MBA with concentration in International Business and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish and Psychology from Temple University.
