This month we will feature a discussion on how asset owners and money management organizations are using sustainable debt in their portfolio constructions. Investor interest in green bonds remains high, as highlighted by the $269.5 billion green bonds issued in 2020.
Even with this growth, green bonds were overtaken by a growing number of sustainable debt categories, including social bonds, sustainability bonds, sustainability linked bonds and sustainability-linked loans, blue bonds and transition bonds. In light of recent global developments, it remains to be seen what the ultimate impact of these sustainable debt instruments will be.
