Mr. Meier is a Senior Economist and a Director with Allianz Global Investors, which he joined in 1999. He is responsible for developing research with a focus on macroeconomics, capital markets, monetary policy, fiscal policy, retirement issues and demographics. Mr. Meier is a spokesperson for the firm, conveying high-conviction ideas to our investment professionals, sales teams and clients. He is on the Sales Leadership Council, and he is a voting member on the Global Policy Committee, a monthly consortium of senior investment and research professionals that determines the firm's house view. Mr. Meier's written work is published globally and has been translated into more than a dozen languages.
In prior roles with the firm, Mr. Meier was a Senior Investment Strategist, Performance Analyst and Financial Writer. He previously worked at Russell Investment Group, Rigel Capital Management and Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management. Mr. Meier has 18 years of investment-industry experience. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Montana and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington. Mr. Meier is an avid traveler, an outdoor enthusiast and a team captain with Bike MS.
