If you are a plan trustee and would like to learn more about the fundamentals of the investment manager selection and retention process, this will be a very important and useful presentation for you to attend. During this presentation, Dan Larocco will discuss the importance of getting off to a good start with the Investment Policy Statement and the Request for Proposal documents. Then Dan will introduce you to methods for evaluating manager performance and how these methods inform the manager retention decision. Finally, Dan will review the significance of the Global Investment Performance Standards and why they are so important to manager selection and retention.

Dan Larocco, CFA, CIPM has an undergraduate degree in mathematics, a Master's degree in Education, and a Master's degree in Business Administration. He has been an adjunct professor of finance at the University of Delaware.

Mr. Larocco is currently responsible for research for the Government and Regulator Relations group at CFA Institute. Previously, he held investment related positions in both the defined benefit pension plan and corporate treasury at DuPont.
