Member Definitions

Regular Members 

  • This membership type is recommended for candidates in the CFA Program and required for award of the CFA charter.
  • Regular Members are individuals who have met the membership requirements set forth by the CFA Institute and Section 2.03 of the CFA Sacramento Society Bylaws.

Affiliate Members

  • This membership type is recommended for investment professionals who do not intend to participate in the CFA Program or who have not yet met the requirements for regular membership. Affiliate members receive the same benefits as regular members, however, affiliate members are not currently eligible for award of the CFA charter and may not vote on CFA Institute proxies. Society membership is required for affiliate membership
  • Affiliate Members are individuals who have met the membership requirements set forth by the CFA Institute and Section 2.05 of the CFA Sacramento Society Bylaws.

Associate Members

Student Members

  • Student Members are individuals who are currently enrolled in an accredited academic institution in the field of finance or a related business course of study.
  • Adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct
  • This category specially designed for students pursuing a finance related degree. With this membership, you are now able to access many benefits offered by the CFA Sacramento Society including networking, job listings, and much more!

Guest Members

  • We recommend guest membership for those who do not intend to participate in the CFA Program but wish to be informed and involved in CFA Society Sacramento events, news and/or participate as a volunteer on committees.
  • If applicant is qualified to apply for a CFAI Affiliate membership the applicant can not apply for a guest membership.
