Title

Thank Goodness for ETFs

Event Description

Considerable dispute exists between passive and active management of equity portfolios, which has arisen from the rapid growth in exchange traded funds (ETFs).  Our guest speaker, Eric Marshall, CFA will discuss the idea that active investment strategies focusing on individual stock selection can benefit from the market inefficiencies that have been produced by the widespread adoption of exchange traded funds (EFTs).

Eric J. Marshall, CFA
currently serves as the President of Hodges Capital Management, which manages approximately $1.2 billion in total assets.  Eric is the co-manager of the Hodges Small Cap Fund (HDPSX) and oversees the research process for the firms five mutual funds, as well as separate account strategies.  Eric and his team of research analysts use a bottoms-up approach to reveal opportunities in stocks that may be overlooked or misunderstood by more conventional approaches. He is an active member of the CFA Institute and the Dallas-Fort Worth CFA Society.
