After an overwhelming response to our first mentor program, we are again offering the program to interested members and candidates. To the extent that you are interested in either serving as a mentor or in being mentored yourself, please fill out the application http://www.cfasociety.org/sanantonio/Pages/MentorProgram.aspx and and return it by email to Casey Keller ([email protected]) AND Kelly Colotla ([email protected]) by Thursday, September 4th. While we will do our very best to accommodate everyone who is interested, we will give preference to members and candidates, as well as those people who apply early. Unfortunately we will be unable to accommodate late applications this year so please let people know if you think there might be an interest. In order to facilitate the process of pairing people up, please provide as much information as possible.
This year’s program will kick off with a Happy Hour, compliments of the CFA Society San Antonio, on Thursday, September 11 from 5-8 pm at Bar Louie at La Cantera (we’ll be upstairs). We anticipate this being the venue where you will meet your mentor/mentee for the first time and make plans for future meetings. This event will also be a good opportunity to network with other people in the program. All mentor/mentee meetings after the initial kickoff will be at the discretion of the mentor/mentee pairs. The CFA Society San Antonio suggests a minimum of six in-person meetings occur by June 30, 2015 in addition to as many other calls, emails, and/or other types of communication that work for the mentor/mentee pairs.
No matter where you are in your career, the feedback from last year has been unanimously positive in that the mentoring program offered priceless benefits to both mentors as well as mentees. We look forward to your help in making our second annual mentoring program another success!
