GQG Partners

James joins GQG Partners from Mercator Asset Management where he was a Senior VP and research analyst. His regional research responsibilities were Benelux as well as Latin America. He has extensive experience in the international equity arena, including developed Europe, emerging markets in Asia and Latin America, and frontier markets in Africa and the Middle East. He previously served as a research analyst at Consilium Investment Management in Ft. Lauderdale from 2008 to 2013, where he focused most recently on emerging and frontier markets equities. James began his career in 1993, serving in a variety of investment roles with several boutique investment firms in the NYC area. From 2002 to 2008, he served as Senior Analyst with SGS Asset Management in Boca Raton, FL and Hong Kong. James completed his MBA at Columbia Business School and earned a BA degree in Economics from Hamilton College. He is a CFA charterholder.

Steven Grey
Founder/Chief Investment Officer
Grey Value Management

Prior to launching the Fund, Mr. Grey served as the Chief Investment Officer of a private, family-controlled investment entity based in Alexandria, VA.  Before that he was Managing Director of Risk at Albright Capital Management (“ACM”), a firm he helped launch with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.  Prior to ACM, he co-managed an event-driven hedge fund based in New York.  Mr. Grey graduated from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business (MBA) in 1997, the Tulane University School of Law (JD) in 1995, and the University of Texas at Austin (BA - Honors) in 1990.  He studied law in both the US and Japan, has testified as an expert witness in securities litigation, and has served as an investment conference panelist.  ​ 

CFA Society South Florida has determined that this program qualifies for 2.0 CE credit hour(s), including 0 hour(s) in the content areas of Standards, Ethics, and Regulations (SER), under the guidelines of the CFA Institute Continuing Education Program. ​On-site registrations are accepted on an exception basis and are payable with credit card only. To cancel, please send an email to [email protected] with your name, email address and CFA Society South Florida member ID (same as CFA Institute ID for regular and affiliate members)​ if applicable. ​

Advance registrations that fail to attend or that fail to cancel prior to 48 hours before the event will be billed at the non-member walk-in rate quoted for the event. If the event is subsidized for both members and non-members, late cancellations and no-shows may be billed at the actual cost per attendee. Cancellations for a full refund must be made at least 48 hours before an event. Registrations cancelled within the last 48 hours prior to an event are not eligible for a refund.
