CFA Society South Florida will host its annual meeting and present election results, followed by an expert panel on equity markets. This year we are proud to feature:

Financial Trust Asset Management

Michael J. Matthews, CFA, is a managing partner at Financial Trust and is involved in all aspects of the firm’s business, including management of the firm’s proprietary investment strategies. Mr. Matthews currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in the CFA Level 1 Review Program at Florida Atlantic University where he teaches Quantitative Methods, Economics, Derivatives, and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he earned his B.S. in Finance and Economics from the University of Central Florida while interning at the UCF Foundation where he performed various supporting activities for the university’s endowment. Upon graduating in 2009, Mr. Matthews worked in the proprietary trading industry in both New York City and South Florida.

Pablo Cavanagh
Owner and Managing Member
LVR Research, LLC

Pablo Cavanagh is the owner and managing member of LVR Research, LLC. Pablo started the firm after graduate school to focus on management of separate accounts and provide consulting and research services for individuals and institutions. The firm seeks to blend quantitative, fundamental and macroeconomic analysis in the investment and research process while diligently maintaining a value-driven philosophy. Pablo has passed level 3 of the CFA Program and is awaiting to be awarded the CFA designation at our next charter award ceremony in November. He has a B.S.B.A. in Finance from the University of Central Florida, a M.S. in Finance from Florida Atlantic University and an M.A. in Economics from Florida International University.​

CFA Society South Florida has determined that this program qualifies for 2.0 CE credit hour(s), including 0 hour(s) in the content areas of Standards, Ethics, and Regulations (SER), under the guidelines of the CFA Institute Continuing Education Program. If you are a CFA Institute member, CE credit for your participation in this program will be automatically recorded in your CE tracking tool.

On-site registrations are accepted on an exception basis and are payable with credit card only. To cancel, please send an email to [email protected] with your name, email address and CFA Society South Florida member ID (same as CFA Institute ID for regular and affiliate members)​ if applicable. ​

Advance registrations that fail to attend or that fail to cancel prior to 48 hours before the event will be billed at the non-member walk-in rate quoted for the event. If the event is subsidized for both members and non-members, late cancellations and no-shows may be billed at the actual cost per attendee. Cancellations for a full refund must be made at least 48 hours before an event. Registrations cancelled within the last 48 hours prior to an event are not eligible for a refund.​
