Sumit Gautam, CFA
Portfolio Manager/Founder, Scalar Gauge Fund (SGF)
Sumit Gautam, CFA, was previously a Partner at a $1.3B AUM long/short fund – Hirzel Capital where he made investments in the technology, business services, and consumer sectors for ~4 years. Earlier, Sumit worked as a Vice President at a $22B AUM private equity fund Audax Group in Boston and made several LBO investments. Prior to Audax, Sumit was a Principal at Bain & Co.’s private equity group in San Francisco. Sumit started his career at McKinsey and Co. in Silicon Valley and also was an early employee at a technology startup that was bought by Dell for $700MM.Sumit is a CFA charterholder, has a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where he graduated #2 in his class, and an M.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, where he was one of the two student marshals who led the convocation ceremony. Sumit is assisted by two research analysts, an operations/IR person and institutionalized service providers (Morgan Stanley as Prime Broker, RSM as auditor, NAV as fund administrator, and BTIG as outsourced trader).
Garrett D. Goggin, CFA, CMT

Garrett D. Goggin has served as GSA Associate Editor since 2010. He began his financial career on the floor of the NYSE market working for a local brokerage as a clerk where he learned how investment transactions are processed. As Mr. Goggin saw much of the order flow was moving off-floor he joined a derivative arbitrage group in the United Kingdom and Ireland during the advent of electronic trading and the rise of the Eurex. Mr. Goggin next set up Vox Capital Investment Advisor in order to protect client assets from an overleveraged economy with a focus on alternative asset classes. Garrett acted as equity portfolio manager of the Babson College Fund as well as served as president of the Babson Investment Managers Association during his time as MBA student.
Garrett is a CFA Charter holder (Chartered Financial Analyst) and a CMT (Certified Market Technician). He serves on the board of CFA Society South Florida as treasurer. Mr. Goggin holds MS and MBA business degrees in Finance from Babson College.
Paul Korngiebel, CFA
Emerging Markets,Emerging Markets Long/Short, Boston Partners
Mr. Korngiebel is a portfolio manager on all Boston Partners Emerging Markets strategies, including Boston Partners Emerging Markets Equity and Emerging Markets Long/Short Equity. He also serves as a supporting member of the greater Global Equity team, providing input on idea generation for various international and global portfolios. Mr. Korngiebel joined the firm from Deccan Value Advisors, which he co-founded,and prior to that he worked at Brandes Investment Partners. Both firms are dedicated to global value investing. Mr. Korngiebel holds a B.A. from Bowdoin (Phi Beta Kappa), M.A. degrees from Harvard and St. Johns College, and an M.B.A. degree from Northwestern (Beta Gamma Sigma). He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and has nineteen years of investment experience.
Tom Krasner, CFA
Co-Founder and Principal, Concise Capital Management, LP
Tom Krasner, CFA has spent over 25 years in fixed income, distressed debt and high yield bonds. He has extensive experience in corporate restructurings, credit analysis, portfolio management, and workouts. Prior to co-founding Concise Capital with Mr. Koach, Mr. Krasner was Executive VP at Harch Capital Management, responsible for restructuring high yield bonds and bank loans. Previously, Mr. Krasner was a Principal and Portfolio Manager at Riverside Capital Advisers, co-managing the short-term high yield portfolio with Mr. Koach. Mr. Krasner began his career at John Alden Asset Management, a $4 billion life insurance company, where he ran a $250 million private placement portfolio. Mr. Krasner holds a B.A. in Economics, English and Mathematical Sciences and a M.A. in Economics from Rice University. From 1996 to 1998 he was President of the CFA Society Miami. He has served on the boards of Birch Telecom, Doe Run Resources, FWT, Institutional Deposits Corporation, Nutritek, Sterling Chemicals, and Trism.
