Join CFA Society Spokane for a Happy Hour event featuring an engaging discussion on the dynamics of the region’s commercial real estate market and residential housing trends. A panel of local industry experts will share insights into the opportunities and challenges shaping real estate markets.

Speakers:

  • Beau Madsen, CFA-Chief Investment Officer of RISE Properties, an investment manager and multifamily operator based in Seattle. On behalf of a private open-ended REIT (“RISE Properties Trust”) and in partnership with a range of institutions, we invest in institutional grade multifamily and mixed-use properties throughout the Pacific Northwest. Beau primarily leads fund strategy, asset selection, and acquisition processes for RISE. Over the course of his career, Beau has led the capitalization of over $2 billion USD of real estate investment. Beau graduated from the University of Washington with majors in Finance and Accounting, holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Washington. Beau serves as a Board member on the City of Spokane Employees' Retirement System defined benefit plan and is the Treasurer of CFA Society Spokane.

  • Brian Betts- Brian is a Managing Partner and Head of Capital Markets for Fourth Avenue Capital, focusing on investment strategy, fundraising and operations. Prior to forming FAC, Brian spent over a decade at Tremblant Capital, a hedge fund based in New York City that managed $2bn+ of institutional capital, where he was a Managing Director on the investment team. In that role, Brian was investing in the public equity markets across various industries in the US, Europe and Asia. In addition to his time on the investment team, he also held roles in risk management and trading. After relocating back to the Pacific Northwest, Brian worked at The Wolff Company as VP of Research for their affiliated real estate private equity fund. Brian holds a BA and MA in Accountancy from University of Washington.

  • Traci Bemis- Your real estate advisor and advocate. Owner of Traci Bemis Real Estate, she brings residential housing expertise and knowledge to empower clients in their investments. Top producer and owner of investment properties herself, she offers understanding, education, support and community focus in her business practices. Traci has a BS in Applied Sociology and Communications from Texas State University. Prior to real estate she worked in non-profit and community advocacy. That ripples into her giving philosophy today as 10% of Traci's compensation goes directly to a charity that her client chooses in order to make this city better for everyone. Traci has served on the Board of Directors for Global Neighborhood for 6 years and Spokane Professional Women for Good (a Giving Circle) for 2 years. She holds designations as a Real Estate Negotiation Expert, Seller Representative Specialist and pursues continued education at Gonzaga University.

  • Moderator Colin Kelly, CFA- Director of Research and Portfolio Manager of Signia Capital—Colin has 20 years of experience in the investment management industry. Prior to joining Signia in 2009, Colin was Vice President of Equity Research for a Pacific Northwest asset manager. In 2020, Colin and Rich Beaven acquired an equal and majority interest in Signia. Colin also serves as an adjunct finance professor at Gonzaga University. He holds a BBA with emphasis in finance and marketing from Gonzaga University. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder and serves on the Board for the CFA Society of Spokane.
