Bev Briscoe has been a corporate director for over 12 years and is currently Chair of the Board of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Inc. and Vice Chair and Lead Director of Goldcorp Inc. Previously Bev owned a transportation services company and worked in senior management positions in the heavy equipment industry in Canada serving the construction, mining and forestry industries. She also worked as Chief Financial Officer for various operating divisions in The Jim Pattison Group in Canada and Geneva, Switzerland. She articled with PWC and worked with them in Vancouver and Sydney, Australia.
She has been a past Chair of a number of not for profit organizations and agencies including BC Forest Safety Council, Industry Training Authority of BC, Boys and Girls Clubs and is currently Treasurer of Vancouver General Hospital Foundation. She is also past Audit Chair of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.
Ms. Briscoe holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Professional Accountants of British Columbia. Bev received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Influential Women in Business Awards in 2011 and in 2012, she was honored as a Fellow by the Institute of Corporate Directors. In 2016 she was recognized by the NACD as one of the top 100 Directors in the US.

Teresa Budd is a governance consultant and lawyer with nearly 20 years experience in governance and law working with private and public companies, Crown agencies, municipal corporations, member-based organizations, regulatory bodies and not-for-profit organizations. Teresa conducts governance reviews, board evaluations, corporate secretarial practice assessments and supports multiple boards as part of WATSON’s outsourced corporate secretarial services. She is a facilitator in WATSON’s Governance Academy delivering governance education programs to both individual directors and boards.
Prior to joining WATSON, Teresa was a partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. As a corporate finance and business lawyer with experience in both Vancouver and Toronto, she represented issuers and underwriters in offerings of equity and debt securities. Teresa also advised issuers and board committees on a variety of matters, including merger and acquisition transactions, corporate governance best practices, continuous disclosure requirements, stock exchange listing requirements, and board and shareholders’ meetings.
Teresa has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario. Teresa serves on the Board of 211 British Columbia Services Society and has been a mentor under the Canadian Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Forum Mentoring Program. Teresa is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Institute of Corporate Directors and the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association.

David joined Leith Wheeler as a Canadian research equity analyst from Odlum Brown Ltd., where he managed their research department. He has been in the investment business since 1985. David has also served as Chairman, B.C. Rail. David specializes in Consumer Products, Steel, Mining, and Transportation companies. He is a graduate of UBC (1979) and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Melanie focuses her legal practice on advising public issuers and underwriters in a variety of sectors, including in the area of mining and mineral exploration. She provides advice on corporate financing transactions; mergers, acquisitions, takeover bids and reorganizations; and mining joint ventures. Melanie also regularly advises issuers with respect to public offerings and private placements, particularly issuers whose securities are listed in more than one country. In addition, Melanie provides commercial and regulatory advice in the financial services sector.
Melanie graduated from the Faculty of Law at UBC in 2003 and from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Illinois in 1996. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 2004. Melanie is an Adjunct Professor (Close Corporations) for the UBC Faculty of law, a member and gender Diversity Officer for the Law Society of BC’s Justicia Project and a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Securities Law subsection. Melanie has been a Director with the Association of Women in Finance (AWF) since 2014.
