The University of Macedonia won the Athens local 2022-2023 CFA Institute Research Challenge with their analysis of the subject company Titan Cement International, on 4 March, 2023.  The team moves on to the Southern Europe Sub-regional round of the competition, where they will face teams from Croatia, Cyprus, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.

Six teams from five universities presented their stock recommendation to our panel of judges on 4 March at the Electra Palace Hotel, with the University of Macedonia's teams winning the competition, and the National and Kapodistrian University's team placing a close second.  All teams produced high-quality written reports and showed exceptional commitment and dedication to the competition.

Our local final competition was sponsored by Deloitte and Grant Thornton as Gold Sponsors, PwC, KPMB and NBG as Silver Sponsors, EY as Career Development Sponsor and Eurobank Equities and Grant Thornton as Internship Sponsors.  The winning team members will have the opportunity to work at two-month paid internships at one of the two firms.

As part of their award, the team will ring the opening bell at the Athens Stock Exchange on 14 March, 2023.
