In October, CFA Society Ireland travelled to Lisbon to take part in the CFA Institute EMEA Society Leadership Conference — an annual gathering of CFA societies from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The event provided an opportunity to connect with peers, share best practices, and align on priorities for the investment profession’s future.
Society Strategy & Governance: Sessions focused on how societies can operate effectively, strengthen volunteer engagement, and deliver value to members in an evolving environment.
Trends Shaping the Profession: Discussions explored the impact of AI and technology, the continued importance of ESG and sustainable investing, and how societies can support members navigating regulatory and market change.
Member Value & Growth: Societies shared initiatives to enhance member engagement, support CFA Program candidates, and build a sense of community through hybrid and in-person events.
Ethics & Professionalism: As always, upholding the CFA Institute’s values of integrity and professionalism remained central to every discussion.
The conference was a reminder that by working together, CFA societies can continue to raise professional standards and serve the public good across the investment community.
