会員の皆様のキャリアアップの一助となることを目的として、キャリアイベントを開催いたします。今回はセイリュウ・アセット・マネジメントのパートナーである塩谷和彦氏をお招きして、オンサイトでのイベントとなります。塩谷氏は東京およびニューヨークの債券市場でセル・サイド、バイ・サイド両方でのビジネス経験をお持ちです。海外で働くステップとしてCFAプログラムを受講されている方も多い中、海外でのキャリア展開に関する参考となれば幸いです。

CFA Society Japan Career Event #1
We will hold a career event to assist society members in progressing their careers. This time, we invite Mr. Kazuhiko Shiotani, CFA, Partner at SEIRYU Asset Management as a speaker. Mr. Shiotani has held various positions in fixed-income on the sell-side as well as the buy-side both in New York and Tokyo. He will discuss his career and about how the CFA charter helped him along the way. Candidates who have earned or are looking to earn the CFA Charter as a step to working overseas may find this event helpful.

About the Speaker / 講演者のご紹介
Kazuhiko Shiotani, CFA
Kaz Shiotani is a Partner at SEIRYU Asset Management Ltd., an independent Japanese discretionary investment management firm (“DIM”). As a DIM, SEIRYU focuses on selecting, appointing, and monitoring external investment managers on behalf of Japanese pension funds. SEIRYU currently has AUM of roughly USD 2 billion, of which two-thirds consist of various alternative investment strategies and the remaining one-third consist of actively managed equity strategies. A member of the Investment Committee, Mr. Shiotani is responsible for the risk and compliance side of the business.
Before joining SEIRYU, Mr. Shiotani spent 18 years at Salomon Brothers (currently Citigroup) in various fixed income positions in NY and Tokyo. From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Shiotani headed the Asia business for Financial Security Assurance (currently Assured Guaranty Ltd.), where he contributed to building the Japanese municipal bond and Asian ABS credit portfolios. From 2010 to 2015, Mr. Shiotani headed Tradeweb Markets Japan where he contributed to building and expanding the JGB/Yen IRS electronic trading platforms.
Mr. Shiotani holds a BA and MA in Economics from Waseda University. Mr. Shiotani is a CFA Charterholder as well as a Chartered Member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.
