Each year, over 100 individuals volunteer for CFAP in a wide variety of ways. One of the best ways to optimize your membership with CFAP is to get involved in a Special Interest Group or committee.
Volunteering heightens your visibility and puts you in direct contact with other professionals in the industry. Whether you are a university student, CFA Candidate, or CFA Charterholder, there are casual, enjoyable ways to get involved in CFAP and to meet other members.
CFAP’s Special Interest Groups serve to provide an outlet for members to participate in smaller groups that focus on specific areas of interest.

Volunteer Opportunities
The Membership Committee is responsible for: (a) overseeing the process of membership, (b) presenting new Members to the Board for approval, and (c) ensuring that all membership requirements have been met.
The Outreach Committee is responsible for establishing mutually beneficial relationships with the Corporation’s various stakeholder groups, including, but not limited to, corporations, academic institutions, and community organizations.
The Programs Committee is responsible for creating and hosting the ongoing educational, professional development and social programs of the Society.
The Education Committee is responsible for developing exam preparation offerings to CFA Candidates.
Inve$t in Her Future. The mission of CFAP’s Inve$t In Her Future is to Inspire young women to pursue a career in the investment management industry. Volunteers are needed to visit high schools and universities in the area to talk about careers in investment management
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Each student will be tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills. They gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst. CFAP is the area’s local host for the competition. Volunteers are needed each year to mentor students, and to participate in the competition’s grading process.
