CFA Society Pakistan works to advance and promote policies that serve investor protection; we support the creation and adoption of rules and regulatory standards that improve market structure, transparency, and fairness for all investors with the intent to expand investment industry professionalism.

Asia Pacific Research Exchange (ARX)

ARX by CFA Institute is a practitioner-centric research portal designed to consolidate and market investment management related research specific to the Asia Pacific region on a single platform.

ARX offers free access to more than 4,000 research articles from industry professionals, financial institutions, scholars, regulators, and CFA Charterholders. It also aims to bring together like-minded practitioners on industry topics and emerging trends specific to the region. ARX commands a 
global viewership generating a vast and highly professional audience for the research. 

Ethics Focus

As professionals, we recognize that ethical values and technical excellence combine to deliver excellence in our profession. In fact, technical expertise without sound ethical practices are detrimental to development of capital markets. Our efforts to promote ethical investment management practices include:

  • Ethics Train-the-Trainer Program
  • Workshops on Ethical Decision Making
  • CFA Society Pakistan Ethics Challenge
  • Global Ethics Day

Codes, Standards and Guidelines

An integral part of the CFA Institute mission is to develop and administer codes, best practice guidelines, and standards to guide the investment industry. These standards help ensure all investment professionals place client interests first. 

The Professional Standards group maintains and promotes adoption of professional standards such as the:

  • CFA Institute Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®)
  • CFA Institute Asset Manager Code™
  • CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct

These standards are promoted locally by CFA Society Pakistan to bring in better practices in the industry.

Regulatory Outreach

CFA Society Pakistan actively engages with the regulator on advocate on investor protection initiatives and developing the markets. Exemptions and waivers are granted to CFA Charterholders in Pakistan by Securities and Exchange Commission of 
Pakistan (SECP). CFA charterholders are now exempt by SECP from obtaining the mandatory Research Analysts Certification, subject to passing of Pakistan Market Regulations certification offered by Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP). CFA charterholders are already waived from the Fundamentals of Capital Market Program (FCM) certification requirement.

Scholarships are also offered to regulatory officials under the Regulator Scholarship Program by CFA Institute. Frequent training sessions are also arranged by the Society for Regulators such as SECP, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
